Possible juvenile-related proteins in olive tree tissues
نویسندگان
چکیده
Comparisons of protein composition between juvenile and adult organs of olive trees were made by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis analysis. Plant material included leaves, bark and bud tissues obtained from juvenile and adult organs within the same plant as well as from separate plants of both the same and different genetic origin. The amount of protein loaded onto the gels was standardized by adjusting the volume of the extract applied to the gel. The protein population of both juvenile and adult tissue from the same or separate trees was qualitatively similar but at least one group of 29 kDa polypeptides, is more abundant in the juvenile leaf tissues. In contrast, a protein group of 35 kDa is more strongly expressed in the adult tissue. Similar relations between the proteins of juvenile and adult tissues were obtained in various cultivars of different genetic origin. Thus, differences in protein composition between juvenile and adult tissues, although only quantitative, are consistent across genotypes. Although, some protein groups, e.g. 63 kDa might be clone-speci®c some other protein groups also differ quantitatively between adult and juvenile tissues but to a lesser extent. # 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. Differential Protein Expression in Olive Tissues Due to Salt Treatments
In this work, differential protein expression in olive tissues after salt treatments has been investigated. Olive clones selected in vitro according to their salt tolerance were submitted, also in vitro, to high salt concentrations. After each treatment, the leaves and stems were collected and protein extracts of them subjected to polyacrilamide gel electrophoresis to analyse their band pattern...

Identification and characterization of tolerant and susceptible cultivars of crop plants to cold stress is important. In this regard, in present research electrolyte leakage and Total Soluble Sugar (TSS) contents in the leaf and bark tissues in ten olive cultivars, namely, Zard, Mari, Fadak87-1, Fadak87-5, Fadak86, Fadak77, Arbequina, Mission, Blady and Coratina were measured to assess their re...
متن کاملBrain Tissues Oxidative Damage as a Possible Mechanism of Deleterious Effects of Propylthiouracil- Induced Hypothyroidism on Learning and Memory in Neonatal and Juvenile Growth in Rats
Introduction: The role of brain tissues oxidative damage in learning and memory impairments has been well documented. It is also well known that thyroid hormones have a critical role for the brain functions. The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of brain tissues oxidative damage as a possible mechanism of deleterious effects of propylthiouracil (PTU) - induced hypothyroidism on ...
